I was chatting to Terry at the Lotus Cortina Spares Centre http://www.lotuscortinaspares.yertiz.com/ before Xmas and he tells me that (available from March) he has reproduced exactly the rear light bezels and the Plenum chamber rubber seal. Prices to be confirmed but the bezels will be approx £35 +vat each

Dave....what is your secret about being able to "chat" to Terry Batchelor?
In 25 years, I have only managed monosyllabic conversations with the man and I invariably end up biting my tongue in order not to tell him about his appalling lack of customer skills.

I find he's OK as long as you avoid the following pitfalls :-

1) Sharp intakes of breath on hearing the price
2) Saying How Much? in disbelief

As long as you accept his terms & conditions there's no problem. It really depends on how badly you want something and what the alternatives are.

That doesn't sound too bad. I paid more than that for a NOS set and they came with awful pressing marks in them.

I thought the MK1 owners club were working on rear bezels - does anyone know if they made any progress??

I agree £35 each sounds much too cheap for Lotus Cortina Parts Centre, has somebody left off a zero. Laughing I do not think I have ever had a bill from Terry as low as that. As for chatting, I do not think so, but I suppose if you want parts bad enough you will put up with prices and manner. It would be much worse if nobody catered for our cars.

To be fair to Terry I think his prices are not that dear now. They were a few years back , but everyone else seems to have caught up and his have stayed basically the same. Just don't tell him that !!!

If you really want a laugh (or cry) have a look at the prices of some of the other items he has on his e-bay shop.
